The purchase of products from Helver Wines Limited is governed by these terms and conditions. Please read them before using the site. By accessing the site, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The term ‘Helver Wines Limited’ or ‘Helver Wines’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ or 'our' refers to the owner of the website.
The term ‘you’ or ‘your’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
All designs, pictures, words, logos and other content contained within this website is the property of Helver Wines Limited or is used by Helver Wines Limited under licence and shall not in any way be copied, reproduced, duplicated or transmitted without the express written permission of Helver Wines Limited, unless as a means of placing an order with us. Nothing in these terms shall be deemed to have transferred or consigned any rights concerning such content to any user.
Age Restrictions for the Supply of Alcohol
Pursuant to the Licensing Act 2003 it is an offence for any person under the age of 18 to buy, or attempt to buy, intoxicating liquor subject to a maximum fine of £1,000, or for any person over the age of 18 to buy intoxicating liquor on behalf of any person under the age of 18, subject to a maximum fine on conviction of £5,000.
Pursuant to the Licensing Scotland Act 2005 it is an offence for any person under the age of 18 to buy, or attempt to buy, intoxicating liquor subject to a maximum fine of £200, or for any person over the age of 18 to buy intoxicating liquor on behalf of any person under the age of 18, subject to a maximum fine on conviction of £5,000 and or 3 months imprisonment.
In making a purchase of alcohol from Helver Wines Limited you are accepting these Terms & Conditions and you agree to provide Helver Wines Limited truthful and accurate information and act in accordance with the Licensing Act of 2003 or where applicable the Licensing Scotland Act 2005.
Helver Wines Limited is committed to upholding both its legal and social obligations as a retailer of intoxicating liquor. The company has control checks throughout the purchase and distribution process.
Prices are quoted inclusive of UK duty and VAT but not delivery. We reserve the right to change our prices and pass on increases should they be incurred.
Descriptions and Images
The descriptions and images on the website are a guide to the look and form of our products. We try to make them as accurate as possible but cannot be held responsible for any minor differences.
We accept payment from the major credit and debit cards. Payment is due before goods are dispatched unless a credit account has been agreed by Helver Wines Limited in which case payment is due as per the terms shown on the invoice. Helver Wines Limited reserves the right to withhold supply and to suspend any further deliveries in the event that payment is overdue.
Orders are subject to the availability of stocks. If your choice of product is not available we will contact you to offer the following options:
- A delay until the product becomes available.
- An alternative product. Partial refund will be arranged if the alternative product is less in value. If the product is greater in value and you agree to accept this upgrade then additional payment will be required.
- A refund to the value of the unavailable product.
- A full refund on cancellation of the entire order.
In the event we are unable to contact you we reserve the right to provide suitable alternative products at no extra charge.
Delivery times are not guaranteed, they are estimates. Helver Wines Limited will not be held responsible for delivery failures beyond our reasonable control.
Estimates for delivery times are best-possible indications only and are not intended to be binding.
We deliver to businesses and private addresses in the UK. We cannot deliver to PO boxes.
Deliveries are generally made between 8am and 6pm. Helver Wines Limited takes no responsibility for delays or non-delivery if the address or postcode supplied is not correct or if there is no one available to sign for the goods.
Delivery prices are shown during the order process. Our standard service for the UK mainland is 1 or 2 working days. This service does not cover Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scilly Isles or Northern Ireland, for which the default service is 2 or 3 working days.
Working days are Monday to Friday but not public holidays.
Local deliveries to the postcodes stated on the website will be made by a member of Helver Wines staff or person/s acting on behalf of Helver Wines. You will be contacted to agree a suitable delivery date, these dates are not guaranteed or intended to be binding.
Missing wine or cases damaged in transit must be reported to us within 3 days of receipt of advice of despatch. If you are expecting a delivery and have not received it within 3 working days, please notify us. Cases should be opened and examined on arrival.
All goods are warranted on delivery to the customer to be of the nature, substance and quality invoiced and to conform in all respects with all the appropriate statutory regulations.
Customers have the right to cancel their orders from time of order until the 14th day after the day of receipt of goods. During this period if you wish to cancel your order please contact us, preferably by email, to confirm cancellation.
We will refund you within 14 days of cancellation. If the goods have been dispatched you should return them to us in a resale condition within 14 days of notice of cancellation. We will withhold refunds until goods are returned (or evidence of return is provided) and we can reduce the amount of money refunded for goods which show evidence of use beyond the handling necessary to see whether the goods are as expected, If you do not return the goods to us within the specified time we will arrange for collection, the cost of which will be deducted from your refund.
Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery. All goods should be examined for any obvious loss or damage at the time of delivery and the necessary evidence, including the goods, retained. Helver Wines accepts no liability for any loss through short delivery or damage to goods in transit unless the customer notifies us within a reasonable period after receipt of the goods.
Title to Goods
Property and title in the goods shall remain with Helver Wines Limited and shall not pass to the customer until such time as Helver Wines Limited has received full and final payment for all sums due.
Our office hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday except for public holidays. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays

All calls are charged at standard rates. We cannot accept visitors to our offices without an appointment. We will attempt to respond to all emails within 4 hours during office hours.
In the unlikely event that you do wish to complain please contact us by email at or call 0333 050 4407. We will attempt to resolve your complaint immediately and aim to resolve all complaints to your satisfaction within 5 working days of the initial contact.
To the extent allowed by the law, Helver Wines Limited shall not be liable for direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of the services or products sold from or referred to on this site in the following circumstances:
- For losses that were not foreseeable to both parties when the contract was made.
- For losses that were not caused by any breach on the part of Helver Wines Limited or their suppliers.
- For business losses and/or losses to non-consumers.
This Contract shall be construed and governed in all respects by English and Welsh Law and all disputes arising under or relating to the Contract shall be the subject of the jurisdiction of the Courts in England and Wales to which Helver Wines Limited and the customer hereby submit.
Like every organisation, we are required to comply with the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is in force from 25th May 2018 replacing the 1998 Data Protection Act. The GDPR aims to protect the privacy, rights and freedoms of all EU citizens, and places stricter requirements on organisations relating to how they process personal information. This new law will not be affected by Brexit.

Periodically and using the email address you provided we may send information which we think you will find of interest, this may include but not limited to, promotional offers and new product launches.
On occasion, we may contact you for feedback purposes. This correspondence maybe by email, phone, or post. We may use the information to customise and enhance the website according to your interests.

Please contact us on email if you do not wish this information to be shared with our delivery agent.
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please contact us by mail. A small fee maybe charged for this request.
If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
